Cognitive Rehabilitation

Cognitive Rehabilitation is a therapeutic intervention to enhance cognitive processes or to delay cognitive decline particularly for individuals diagnosed with dementia and mild cognitive impairments.

The Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy is a one-on-one and/or group intervention approach. The purpose is not only to maximize the memory function of elderly adults, but to improve their overall emotional well-being and social adaption skills.

During the process, brain training exercises will be used to strengthen brain cell’s associations with the notion that the brain can develop new connections through regulated neuro-stimulation.

Biofeedback Therapy

Biofeedback is a treatment technique in which people are guided to improve their health by using signals from their own bodies. Using patches, called electrodes, connected to a computer, a program tracks certain measurements such as heart rate, breathing patterns, blood pressure, and other functions.

With the help of the biofeedback technician, they will describe methods and practices that will help you control the functions, listed above, in a way that will lead to a calm and deeper understanding of your body’s physical reactions.

Some exercises that might be used during Biofeedback Therapy include:
deep controlled breathing, mindful meditation, guided imagery, and
muscle relaxation.
