Do you offer therapy online or in person?
Thriving Minds Health Services (TMHS) is currently offering in-person session and tele-health. TMHS utilizes the most updated HIPAA compliant technology through KAREO. KAREO is an online conference software that provides a secure line between you and your psychologist.
What is the difference between insurance and cash pay?
If you have insurance, the cost of therapy might be covered by your insurance provider. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Cigna, Health Plan of Nevada (HPN), United Healthcare, Optum, and Cash Pay.
All insurance plans differ, so it is best to contact your provider to see if there will be any out of pocket cost, or if mental health coverage is not included in your plan.
Cash Pay (or private pay) is out of pocket payment for services. If your current insurance does not cover therapy or you are currently without insurance, you will fall under the Cash Pay plan. For more information on the price of services through cash pay, please call us at (702) 483 - 8017 .
Is there a minimum age you accept?
Currently TMHS takes clients as young as 3 years old. With minors, there needs to be a strong line of communication between the legal guardian and psychologist. If you have any questions about the therapy process for a minor, please feel free to call and clarify any concerns.
How long do I need to be in therapy?
Every person is different and there is no “deadline” for recovery. Set a goal with your therapist, and the duration will come naturally.
Seeking therapy is just the first step, and just like any other medical treatment, it will take time to heal. If it takes 6 months or 6 years, both are appropriate in different circumstances, and that is okay.
What should I expect going into my first therapy session?
Walking into your first session, you might be a little nervous and that is completely normal. During that initial meeting, your psychologist will want to get to know you and what you want to accomplish during your time together. To gain a better understand of you, your psychologist will likely ask you about important parts of your life. At first it may feel odd sharing your life, but as time goes on the level of trust will grow, but if you ever feel uncomfortable with your therapist for any reason, please let that be known and we will find a therapist right for you.
